Sexy Sundae- A Gorgeous Shade of Rouge

July 25, 2014

To me ice cream is the rite to rebellion. When I build a Sundae, I want to break all the rules. I want to build an imaginary world with gobs of colour and textures. A playground for the mind. A combination of ice cream flavours and chocolates and sauces and fresh fruits and crunchy nuts and sugar sculptures. I want to savour the soft texture of cream and surprise myself with the crunch of a brittle. I want a rainbow of colours - the pink next to the brown next to the red next to the orange. Soft pillowy clouds of bananas and a burnt earthiness of ginger snaps. I want the whole lusciousness of flavours flowing with rivers of sauce sprinkled with starry pieces of caramel bits- frozen. Slowly melting onto my hands, I dont care a lick but I go on. This is my rebellion with all my heart. Let me close my eyes and for a few minutes savour the last bite.

As a third part of the series for 50 Shades of Plum, I made a rouge coloured plum sauce that held its own amongst chocolate and ice cream.

15 plums pitted and chopped into quarters

3 tbspn of sugar

vanilla essence

1 stick of cinnamon

It cant get better than eating some sexy sundae with this gorgeous ballad by Guillemot. Does anyone remember this song from Gossip Girl when Blair asks Chuck what took him so long and he responds - if you thought this was long, you have no idea what you are in for...
